A Department Manager can no longer be a specialist in operating their department and dwindling resources make it even more challenging. The Manager must be a generalist in many other areas they might not be trained for and sometime performance is impacted in a negative manner. The assessment will include all areas of the Department as well as the assessment of the Manager. This assessment and coaching will identify the strengths and weaknesses of the individual and an action plan will be developed and agreed upon between the Manager and their direct report. Three-sixty evaluations can be used as well. These audits are conducted by a consultant that has successfully worked in this very sensitive situation.

We specialize in the following departments:

  • Discovering untapped value in the ED franchise
  • Effective monitoring of the ED function to avoid surprises
  • Production based incentive compensation for the physician team
  • Negotiating effective ED contracts
  • Incorporating utilization management in the ED. Also see Patient Flow Page
  • Setting and monitoring ED physician staffing
  • Developing a patient financial responsibility management program
  • Benchmark metrics for:

  • Leadership performance
  • Departmental performance
  • Clinical performance
  • Contract performance

NEW PROGRAM: Additionally, we have developed a Managerial/Supervisor retention program. For a variety of reasons an effective, tenured Manager/Supervisor may begin struggling and this can be traced to both external and internal pressures and circumstances. Evaluations and onsite visits will develop an individual improvement plan to do everything possible to assure that the individual has every opportunity to succeed. As appropriate, action plans can be coordinated with the hospital or an external Employee Assistance Program.
